Semion Saikin

Chief Scientific Officer, Kebotix

Semion K. Saikin, Ph.D.
Chief Science Officer, Founder
Kebotix, Inc.

As chief science officer of Kebotix, Dr. Semion Saikin is responsible for developing a scientific basis for tools built by the company. “One of my great passions is to shorten the gap between leading-edge developments in science and technology and their applications for solving such global problems as climate change, environmental pollution, and sustainable production,” Semion said.

To that end, Semion believes that Kebotix will define a new paradigm for the materials discovery process. “We usually assign creativity and insight to humans while mechanistic work is more associated with machines,” he said. “At Kebotix we transform this traditional vision and create a brain for robotic systems, so they can ‘dream.’”

Semion, author of more than 60 scientific publications, has worked on predicting materials properties for almost two decades. He earned his Ph.D. and master’s degree in physics from Kazan Federal University in Russia. Before founding Kebotix, Semion was a senior researcher at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Harvard University.
