Kuralay Baisalbayeva has joined PwC tax practice in the Netherlands in September 2014. Her focus is on Tax Strategy & Operations and Tax Administration Consulting.
Prior joining PwC, Kuralay specialised on international aspects of corporate taxation of MNEs and conducted several research works on tax policy aspects. Her past experience include work at Big4 in Astana, Kazakhstan and research internship at well-established think-tank organisation in the Washington DC, the USA.
Within her current practice at PwC, Kuralay supports businesses to mature tax management and gain control of the entire tax function at organisation. She helps multinationals to design tax strategy and ameliorate relations with tax authorities by involving in co-operative compliance models.
Kuralay is a core team member of PwC Global Tax Administration Consulting team. She is focused on design and implementation of sustainable tax compliance strategies for governments, tax administrations, intra-governmental organisations, businesses and other. This also includes support on digital transformation agenda, innovative audit strategies, co-operative compliance modelling, capacity building and performance measurement.
Kuralay published several articles on tax governance (co-operative compliance, Tax Control Framework, Tax Code of Conduct and other concepts) and is a co-writer of a series of publications with Microsoft on the Digital Transformation of Tax Administrations, including Data Intelligent Tax Administration and Blockchain for Tax Compliance.
