Adil Khan is an Associate Professor of Machine Learning, and Head of Machine Learning Lab, at Innopolis University (IU), Russia. He received his Ph.D. degree from Kyung Hee University in 2010. Upon graduation, he started working as an Assistant Professor in the School of Information & Computer engineering at Ajou University (South Korea). There, he also served as a Senior Research Scientist in the Knowledge Intensive Software Engineering Lab. In June of 2015, he left Korea and joined IU.
He has more than 13 years of research and development experience in the area of machine learning. He has led, co-led, and participated in several industry- and government-funded research projects. Through his work, he has made many significant contributions in the areas of Human Action Recognition, Facial Expression Recognition, Hyperspectral Image Analysis, Brain-Computer Interface, Wearable Computing, and Medical Image Analysis. His work consists of both traditional machine learning methods and deep learning techniques. Nowadays, he is primarily working on Domain Adaptation, Domain Generalization, Segmented Autoencoders, Convolutional Neural Networks, Adversarial Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Semi-supervised Learning, and Hierarchical Learning. So far, he has authored\co-authored over 60 research publications.
